There are abandoned movie venues throughout Pennsylvania due to the rise of prices and the increased availability of new releases. Drive-Ins are the hardest hit venues due to the various multiplexes. At one time, Pennsylvania and California had more Drive-Ins than any other States. Today (2008) there are about 8 or 9 that are still in operation.
